IIT Gandhinagar encourages interdisciplinarity in its research activities. We have interdisciplinary centres where people from all disciplines work together to produce research and solve real-world problems that have a high impact on society. Our centre for biomedical engineering, for instance, is developing Automated Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Techniques where individuals from the field of robotics, medical and electronics are working together. More than 35 funding agencies have funded our research. Our researchers include faculty members, visiting scholars, post-doctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students. They collaborate with colleagues across the Institute, at affiliated institutions, and at other research institutions. We aim to bring IIT Gandhinagar, as an institution for higher learning in science, technology, and Humanities which aspires to develop top-notch scientists, engineers, leaders, and entrepreneurs to meet the needs of the society.

Post Description: Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar seeks to appoint post-doctoral fellows (PDFs) in different disciplines of engineering, sciences and humanities. The terms and conditions of PDFs at IITGn are listed below. Interested candidates may approach the faculty members in their area of research directly.
Terms and Conditions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Recent PhD or waiting for Defence after submission of thesis (if admissible). Candidates who have completed their earlier post-doctoral fellowship assignment are also eligible.
Fellowship Amount:
- Fellowship amount for a candidate will be fixed depending on qualifications and experience. This range may be revised upwards periodically, typically once a year, to keep up with inflation.
Medical Benefits:
- Medical benefits for self, spouse and children may be provided at par with those provided to the faculty of IITGN.
Leave:
- PDF will be provided with 2.5 days leave per month; this may be accumulated up to 90 days.
Duration of the appointment:
- One year and may be extended on mutual requirement and availability. Duration cannot exceed three years.
Discipline of Research:
- In all areas of engineering, sciences and humanities subject to the interest of the concerned faculty.
