University Profile
In 1957, Sanskrit Commission made a recommendation for the creation of a Sanskrit institution in India. Four years later, in 1961, the formation of the Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Society took place in Tirupati. On January 4, 1962, the foundation stone was laid by the then Vice-President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust, under the leadership of Executive Officer Dr. C. Anna Rao, leased forty-two acres of land and generously contributed Rs. 10 lakhs towards constructing buildings for the institution.
By April 1971, the Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha came under the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education. Celebrating its Silver Jubilee in 1987, the institution saw its status upgraded to that of a Deemed University, as announced by Sri P.V. Narasimha Rao, the then Union Minister of Human Resource Development. The Deemed University was formally inaugurated by the President of India, Sri R. Venkataraman, on August 26, 1989. From the academic year 1991-92, the Vidyapeetha began its operations as a Deemed University. Finally, on April 30, 2020, the institution’s status was raised to that of a Central University, and its name was changed to the National Sanskrit University.

Academic Qualification
- The minimum qualification for the appointment as assistant professor is Master degree with 55% in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, on an equivalent degree from an forgin University. Candidate must have cleared UGC or CISR NET
- The minimum qualification for the appointment as Associate Professor is eight year of teaching experience (for more detail check the detailed advertisement)
