The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Kansas seeks to fill one postdoctoral researcher position in observational astronomy, working in the group of Professor Allison Kirkpatrick.
Post Description: The postdoc will be responsible for reducing new JWST/MIRI observations, producing science-ready images, and producing a photometric catalog. The postdoc will also assist with mentoring undergraduate students.
Duration: Two Years

Academic Qualification
- A Ph.D. in astronomy or physics or a related field by date of appointment
- NOTE: To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title, it is necessary to have the PhD in hand. Appointments made without a diploma or certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an acting basis not to exceed 6-months.
- Desirable Experience reducing data from the James Webb Space Telescope.
