About Institute
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is dedicated to scientific research and science education of international standards. Traditionally, teaching has been segregated from research in undergraduate science curricula in our country. The IISERs were established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to bridge this dichotomy. IISER TVM was founded in 2008. The institute aims to provide high quality education in modern science, integrating it with outstanding research at the undergraduate level itself, and to develop a spirit of enquiry cutting across disciplines. IISER TVM is an autonomous institution offering a five-year BS-MS programme in addition to iPh.D and Ph.D. programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and inter-disciplinary areas.

The Institute invites applications for the Research Associate positions on contract basis for external funded project. The last date of application is 25-December-2023.
Project Details
Title of Project: On the central idempotents of algebras arising from Schur-Weyl Duality and the invariant theory of certain groups.
Funding Agency: DST-SERB
Educational Qualification
- Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics (as prescribed by the funding agency). Age preferably < 40 years.
Desirable Qualification:
This project requires strong background in representation theory and some knowledge in Lie group representations and Schur-Weyl duality is preferable.
Fellowship Amount: Rs. 47,000 + HRA (Per Month)
Tenure of the Post:
Project duration is for 1 year and 4 months. Initial contract is for one year and extendable based on the performance of the candidate.How to Apply
