About University
The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has been established by an Act of the Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) at Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan Period to address to the concerns of ‘equity and access’ and to increase the access to quality higher education by people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrolment Ratio of less than the national average of 11%.
The CUK, with its territorial jurisdiction all over Karnataka has been initiated its activities from the academic year beginning August 2009 in keeping with the philosophy of achieving and maintaining the highest levels of academic excellence, sensitivity to equity and access in enrolment and recruitment and emerging as a premier national educational and research institution in the country.

Online applications through the UGC's unified Recruitment system i.e. CU Chayan Portal (https://curec.samarth.ac.in) are invited from the eligible citizens of Indian Overseas Citizens of India with valid documents as applicable to apply for recruitment in the prescribed format for the position of Assistant Professor (16) in the various Academic Departments of University on regular basis.

Essential Qualification
Minimum Qualification for Assistant Professor
(All subjects except Management/Business Studies and Engineering):A.
i) A Master's degree with 55Yo marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC or who are or has been awarded Ph.D. Degrees in accordance with the University Grants Commission.
(Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M. Phil. /Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET:
Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programmed prior to July 11,2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the degree awarding Institution and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
a. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d. The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her phD work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC I ICSSRI CSIR. or any similar agency.
The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concemed.
Note: NET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR.
B.
OR The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the folloriing: 1ij Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education fHry or (iii) the Acad-emic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
Note: The Academic score criteria as specified in Append-ix II 6atte :a) oi UCC REGULATIONS ON MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS AND OTHER ACADEMIC STAFF IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES AI{D MEASURES FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION, 2018 shall be considered for short-listing of candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
